Who am I?
Well, to start, I am Laura Fairchild. I am currently a 20-year-old college student, studying Communications and Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California.
But I am much more than that. I was born and raised in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia and spent a large amount of my time at school, visiting my grandparents in the rural countryside in northern Georgia, and traveling with my family and friends. I learned to be patient, to be kind, and to give love freely because everyone deserves a chance.

A couple of things I feel like you should know about me before you follow me on my journey. I am, and always will be, a child at heart. I believe in optimism and openness. I am incredibly clumsy, no matter how hard I try to be otherwise. I am awfully uncoordinated. I always expect the unexpected, and think that the simple things like a good movie and someone to lean on are the true joys in life. I strive to be curious, to be compassionate, and to keep learning from everything and everyone around me.
I embarked on my "unanchored adventure" to Hong Kong with hope and a desire to discover more of the world. To learn from the people, the culture, and the place what it means to be somewhere I have never been. And, to tell you the truth, I have no idea what will come next. And, in that, I find both excitement and peace.
So, I'd like to leave you with one last thought. As French novelist Marcel Proust once said:
“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.”
